Frequently Asked Questions

Real answers about pricing, setup, strategies, and how everything works.

What is SmartTrader EA?

SmartTrader EA is a fully autonomous AI trading system for MetaTrader 5. Its core is a calibrated Tree + Neural model ensemble that scores every potential entry, gated by confidence floors and cross-model agreement checks - no manual configuration required.

How much does it cost?

Three license tiers: 3-Month ($30, Standard Support), 6-Month ($50, Priority Support), and Yearly ($90, Priority Support, includes 1 month of EA Builder Pro free). Every tier includes the full EA, full autonomy, model updates, and the on-chart dashboard. The separate EA Builder tool has its own pricing: Free, Pro ($19/mo, 50 AI chat messages + 30 tool-run credits/day), and Pro Max ($59/mo, 200 messages + 150 credits/day).

Is there a free trial?

Trials are offered from time to time -- check the License section in your account area (log in first) to see if one's currently available, or ask on Discord.

How do I install and set it up?

It's a 6-step process: open MT5, add Google Docs/Drive to your trusted URL list, download the EA and indicators, copy them into your MQL5 folders, refresh the Navigator panel, then attach the EA to a chart on the M15 timeframe and enable AutoTrading. Full walkthrough with diagrams is on the Download page.

What strategies are included?

11 independent rule-based strategies ship alongside the AI engine - from Triple Alignment Trend and Confluence Zone to the high-conviction Sniper All-IN. Each reads the same five custom indicators but applies its own entry logic. Full list and downloads are on the Download page.

What win rate can I expect?

Historically, Sniper All-IN has shown the highest win rate (90-95%) and best risk:reward (1:5-7), with Confluence Zone close behind (80-85%). These are historical results, not a guarantee of future performance - trading always carries risk.

Is GoldGrid EA risky?

Yes - use caution. GoldGrid is a grid/martingale-style strategy for aggressive accounts and can draw down an account heavily in a single bad cycle. It's a separate, higher-risk tool from the core autonomous EA.

What is the Manual AI Filter?

The 11 manual strategies each trade on their own explicit rule-based logic. Each one optionally layers a trained AI filter on top as an extra gate that has to agree before a signal is taken - it's on by default, and you can turn it off per strategy if you'd rather trade purely on the rule-based signal.

How does the AI decide trades?

A calibrated Tree + Neural model ensemble (weighted 70/30) scores every potential trade. A signal only fires if it clears a per-direction confidence floor and the two models agree - the models are periodically retrained on fresh data and redeployed as updated ONNX files.

What platform does it run on?

SmartTrader EA is built entirely in native MQL5 for MetaTrader 5 - no bridges or external processes. Trained models ship as portable ONNX files for consistent behavior across every install.

Can I build my own EA?

Yes - the EA Builder tool lets you assemble your own strategy from a drag-drop block palette (indicators, price action, candlestick patterns), backtest it, and download a real, ready-to-attach compiled EA (.ex5) - it compiles server-side, so there's no MetaEditor step. It's free to use with login; paid tiers add an AI chat assistant that can build/adjust the strategy, backtest, finetune parameters, and generate the file for you conversationally. Find it under "EA Builder" in the site nav.

How do I get support?

For the fastest response, join our Discord server. You can also email us directly - both links are on the Contact Us page.

What's the refund policy?

All sales are final - we don't offer refunds, including for a mid-cycle tier or plan upgrade. If something isn't working as expected, reach out on Discord or email first and we'll help sort it out.

Does it support hedging accounts?

Yes - SmartTrader EA works on both hedging-mode and netting-mode MT5 accounts, no restriction either way.

Can I run it on a VPS or multiple machines?

Yes - licensing is tied to your MT5 account number, not a specific machine, so you're free to run it on a VPS, switch VPS providers, or reinstall on a new machine anytime.

Is trading with this risky?

Trading Forex and Derivatives carries a high level of risk. SmartTrader EA is a tool for educational purposes, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose.
